Stars are going out. Routes are collapsing.
We're absolutely screwed.
The galaxy is dimming
Lumentide is a tactical turn-based roguelike about pretending you have a plan, finding the route least likely to get everyone killed, and dragging your crew through one more system before the darkening catches up.
Humans just barely got into known space, and the Lantern Route is already coming apart. A random handful of pilots, each in their own ship, are stuck holding the line. They didn't sign up for this. They definitely didn't sign up for you: a disembodied presence from somewhere on the other side of the glass, clicking on things and making life-or-death decisions on their behalf. They would very much like to keep existing. Please click responsibly.
Route through the darkening
The star map changes every run. Every node is a fight, a gamble, or a tense breather.
Load the sockets and hit FIRE
Pre-load your ships with weapons, shields, and specials. Each turn your sockets fill with quantum-entangled options. Line up two to five of a kind for escalating damage and shields.
Command your crew
Build a squad of awkward, opinionated pilots with their own bonuses, specials, and opinions they're happy to share mid-fight. Keep them alive and they might return the favour.
A menu of bad ideas
Every run charts a fresh star map across the Lantern Route. Combat, shops, medics, mystery events, elites, and risk nodes all compete for your next jump.
Some routes are slightly less bad than others. Good luck telling which.
Half tactics.
Half quantum slot machine.
You decide what goes on each ship before the fight starts. The fight decides whether you regret it. Read enemy patterns, plan ahead, and occasionally panic-tap your special.
